We are a new and unconventional municipal body closely linked to an investment project financed by the PHARE ESC 2001 Fund. The project envisages the creation of a unique enterprise centre in Cieszyn whose main aim is to harness the potential of designers and artists to stimulate economic development in Silesia and to increase the competitiveness of businesses. Approximately PLN 12 million has been invested in the project, 75% of the total being financial support by the European Union, with support also from the Polish state budget, the Marshal Office of Silesia and Cieszyn Commune Council 2004 saw the construction of the new enterprise centre on the site of the former orangery. Part of the castle and a building situated on the Castle Hill have been renovated and adapted for new functions. On 28 October 2004 the Cieszyn Town Council passed a resolution to found the Silesian Castle of Art & Enterprise and on 1 January 2005 granted the new centre its Statute.
