The idea behind the exhibition is to introduce Polish businesspeople, academics and consumers to technological novelties and to encourage them to work together.

HI 5! - 5th Birthday Celebrations of the Silesian Castle of Art and Enterprise, Cieszyn

Five design exhibitions celebrating the 5th birthday of the only regional design centre in Poland. On offer:

 

29.01-15.03 Best degree projects 2008/2009 - the annual presentation of the most interesting degrees from design faculties in Fine Arts Academies.

29.01-20.03 Good Things. From idea to object, from object to product - the first project in Poland to link the value of design with social economics. Presentation of products designed by students of the Faculty of Design, Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and the Holon Institute of Technology, Israel, for the Community Education Centre of the Być Razem Community Enterprise Development Foundation, Cieszyn.

Type Together

Type Together is the international design partnership of Veronika Burian and José Scaglione - graduates of the University of Reading. They'll be showcasing their work from 10-28 February and from 8-12 February will be running international workshop, entitled Tailored Typeface Design.


17.03-11.03

Art and Logos

An exhibition of the work of two designers, Andrzej Budek and Jacek Ebert, graduates of the Faculty of Graphic Design at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, showcasing logotypes designed in KOTBURY, the studio they founded.

 

7.03-11.04

Women Design

The exhibition is a spontaneous, often quirky manifesto of a women's design group and women designers themselves. Art and design workshops will be organised to coincide with the exhibition.

Śląska Haja

Haja is a collective created by graduates of Katowice Academy of Fine Arts. Haja draws its inspiration from Katowice and the surroundings. The group challenge stereotypes about Silesia, and also play around with them. They would like to use their projects to promote Silesia as a unique place, open to bold ideas.

Silesia Icon

This is a cyclical event promoting the most significant achievements of designers, companies and institutions in Silesia in 2009.

Design in Public Space. La Dolce Vita

An exhibition, conference and series of meetings focussing on issues of public space.

Revita Silesia

The task of the project is to promote best practice in the revitalisation of socially, economically and environmentally neglected areas.

Treasures from a Painted Cieszyn Chest

The tenth edition of this unusual art and crafts festival, whose aim is to present the most interesting achievements of artists linked to the region and to encourage local people and tourists to participate actively in culture.

Design Your Own Christmas

In the atmosphere of excitement leading up to Christmas it's worth visiting the Castle to find out - by taking a sneaky look at designers' ideas - how to set the Christmas table, wrap presents, trim the Christmas tree and bake traditional Cieszyn cookies.
